"Projector powering off"

I just got a used W400Q and a new bulb. I put in the new bulb and have been using the projector for a few weeks.

In the past week the projector is just shutting itself off while we are watching movies. This happens after about 30 minutes but sometimes as much as an hour. Once the screen goes off, the fan is still running like it normally would if I had gone into standby mode. There are two lights blinking on the panel. The Power light and the Lamp light.

At first this was only happening occasionally, but now it seems to be happening everytime we try to use it.

I have had to wait for several minutes or even hours before I can even turn it back on.

After replacing the bulb I reset the bulb timer as instructed. I made sure the filter is clean. I made sure that everything is secure and in place.

I am so happy with the projector, I was hoping someone could tell me what this means and if there is any way to fix it.

Thanks,
mb

Hi Matt,

It could be the contact switch that's adjacent to the door for the bulb, if memory serves me. If the hatch isn't closed just right, making contact with the switch, the lamp will not stay lit. It's been awhile since I had a 400Q, so pardon if my memory is in error. I'm sure this topic has been covered in the archives.

Probably many times.

Best wishes,
