"Dust blobs in VPL-VW12HT"

   Has anyone cleaned the 12HT to remove dust blobs ?

I have found instructions for cleaning the 10HT, but wonder if the light path has changed in the 12HT.

Also, rather than use compressed gas, what do you think of suction ?

Thanks

   I thought the light path for the 12HT was sealed. I guess not!

I'd recommend against suction. First, I don't think you could get adequate suction into the right places and second, I'd be worried that the suction could damage some of the fragile parts.

   Hi,
You can find an excellent set of instructions at the following addresse;

http://www.thecitycinema.com/new_page_7.htm
It appears the 11HT and 12HT are the same construction as the 10HT
Good Luck !

   I have a similar problem to yours with the "green blobs". My projector is a 11HT and has done around 300 hours to date and is only 4 months old since I bought it new.

Is this a warranty item or do I have to remove these blobs myself ? If so what do I need to do to ensure I do not affect the projector in any way.

Can I replace the filter only and would this rectufy the problem ?

Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

   Any way to get rid of these green blobs without taking the thing apart as described? I just can't bring myself to taking the chance of doing more damage by going any further than sliding out the top grey cover.

Thanks for the link, very helpful. Just about cried last night when I was watching a movie (I wasn't crying because of the movie, but the dust blobs on the image). Thanks
